CHAIR OF SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITY
The chair was established in 1959 under the name of "Cultural-Educational Work", due to structural changes, the name of the chair changed a few times: "Cultural studies" in 2012 and "Social and cultural activity" in 2018. The academic staff of the chair has published many scientific research works, including monographs, textbooks and teaching aids, educational programs, teaching-methodical materials and scientific articles. For example, textbooks "History and theory of culture", "International cultural relations", "Cultural relations of Azerbaijan with Arab countries”, "Culture of communication”, "Cultural heritage", "Information culture”, "Gender problem in Azerbaijan: emergence and development characteristics", "Characteristics of gender manifestation in culture and art", also methodological materials "Intersex relations in the medieval socio-cultural life of Azerbaijan" and "The role of gender in society", the monograph "Azerbaijani education of the 19th century: society and man", etc.
Today, the chair offers about 130 courses at the bachelor's and master's levels.
Teaching these courses at a high level allows one to study the existing problems and processes in various fields of social activity and to learn the necessary knowledge, skills and habits to solve standard and non-standard issues of the specialty.
