Ellada Huseynova,
Honoured cultural worker, Doctor of Philosophy in Art studies, Associate Professor
Ellada Huseynova was born in Baku in 1961. In 1984, she graduated from the Azerbaijan State Conservatory named after U. Hajibeyov (now the Baku Music Academy named after U. Hajibeyli) with an honours diploma majoring in music history and theory. In 2006, she defended her dissertation on "Azerbaijani folk music in the research of Russian musicians" and earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in art studies. In 2008, she was awarded the scientific title of Associate Professor.
She has been working at ASUCA since 1991 first as a teacher at the department of "Musical subjects and orchestral conducting", then as a senior teacher (2001), an associate professor (2008), as head of "Musicology" chair (2008-2011), as dean of the Faculty of Music (2011-2017), dean of the Faculty of Theater (2017-2022). Since 2022, she has been working at the position of the Scientific Secretary of the university.
She is the author of the monograph "Azerbaijani folk music in the studies of Russian musicians", 2 methodical recommendations, about 20 educational programs, 3 methodical guides, about 50 articles, and one of the compilers-authors of "Encyclopedia of Mugham". E. Huseynova edited books by Aida Taghizadeh "Soltan Hajibeyov" and "Jovdat Hajiyev", 14 issues of the "World of Music" magazine, books and websites "We are learning the Azerbaijani language", "Ilyas Efendiyev", "Theatre: yesterday, today, tomorrow", "Explanatory mugham dictionary".
